Grade book Local Backup

Warning! Read this first

Staff Members:

Please use the following tutorial to help assure that you are backing up your data, in case of a server crash or other catastrophe.

1. Open up your grade book file off the server like you normally do.

2. Go to FILE>>SAVE AS

3. Click on the LOCAL button at the bottom left corner of the SAVE AS window.

4. Give the file a name using a form of your name and the word backup. Dont use commas, periods, or dashes.

If this file already exists, the computer will ask you if you wish to overwrite the file. Either give it a new name, or choose YES. This depends on how many backups you would like to keep.

5. Either choose the default location of the IGPRO folder on your hard drive, or click on the SAVE IN drop down list and choose a different place. I.e. My Documents, or a folder of your choosing.

6. Click the SAVE button.

7. Close your gradebook immediately after step 6 without making any more grading changes!!!!. Click yes to save if you are prompted upon exiting the program.

IMPORTANT! READ THIS!!!

Thats it. You just saved your grade book to a local copy for backup purposes. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you open up your grade book as you normally do (from the server) the next time you need to input new grades etc. DO NOT OPEN THE LOCAL COPY BY DOUBLE CLICKING IT!! DONT ASK WHY, JUST DONT DO IT!!
