Bereavement Leave, POLICY NO: 487

Non-certificated personnel shall be granted leave with full pay for death in the immediate family not to exceed five (5) days per year. This leave is not cumulative.

Immediate family is defined as any relative living or residing in the household of the employee or the spouse, son, daughter, brother, sister, mother, or father, grandmother or grandfather, or grandchild, whether residing in or out of the household of the employee. It is understood that in the case of a married employee, the relationship is extended to both sides of the family.
