SILVER VALLEY SCHOOL-TO-WORK JOB SHADOW PROGRAM

The job shadow program gives you a chance to learn about what someone actually does in a job that is of interest to you. You will have an opportunity to see first hand the kinds of jobs that exist within the six different career pathways (Arts and Communications, Business and Management, Health Services, Human Resources, Industrial & Engineering, and Natural Resources).

A job shadow is a learning experience that takes place at a business in your community. It usually lasts from 3 – 8 hours. During a job shadow, you follow a worker (called your "host") during a typical day and observe & ask questions about his or her work. You also complete written assignments in this packet that will help you understand, think about & record the things you see, hear & learn.
