Voluntary Compact

Dear Parent:

As part of the Sunnyside Elementary Title I School Improvement Project, we are asking that you and your child join us in signing a voluntary written agreement (or compact) that expresses support of your child’s education and commits everyone involved in your child’s education to helping him or her reach their potential as learners. I fully support this compact because it forms a partnership which I feel will lead to a successful educational experience for each student who attends Sunnyside School.

I agree to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of my ability:
1. Provide a quality curriculum.
2. Provide a safe and violence free environment.
3. Ensure that all students have an opportunity to learn and grow.

I understand the importance of the school experience to every student and my role as a teacher model. I agree to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of my ability:
1. Teach the necessary concepts to your child.
2. Strive to be aware of the needs of your child.
3. Communicate any concerns that I might have about your child to you.
4. Return phone calls and answer notes from home in a timely manner.

4. Spend at least ten minutes a day reading with my child.
