Philosophy

The faculty of Sunnyside Elementary School believes:

...that students have a right to self-esteem and self-confidence, and that the positive self-image of each  individual should be  developed with sensitivity.

...that students should be guided toward the realization of  their potential as worthy and effective students.

... the educational program should work to stimulate the spirit of inquiry, the acquisition of knowledge and understanding,  and the thoughtful formulation of worthy goals.

...that students mature and develop at different rates, and that each has different levels of ability and capacity, all of which are factors that should be considered in the educational program.

...that teachers and parents should work jointly to promote the students' physical, emotional, social, moral, and intellectual development.
