We are a small rural elementary school located in Kellogg, Idaho, USA.

We are part of Joint School District #391, and our current school population is 264 students in grades Kindergarten through Five.

Sunnyside Elementary School
has again been awarded Approved Accreditation Status by the Idaho State Board of Education.

The school was identified as an Idaho Merit School in 1998-99, 2000-01, 2001-02, 2002-03, 2003-04, 2004-05, and 2005-2006.

Merit status is awarded to schools that show that they significantly exceed the State Accreditation Standards and the status is awarded for two years.

Sunnyside Elementary
was identified as a recipient of the Idaho Education Association A+ Excellence in Education Award in 2000 and 2001.

2001
Steve Shepperd, Sunnyside Principal,
was selected by the Idaho Association of Elementary School Principals as Idaho's Distinguished Elementary School Principal for 2001.

Snow or Ice Storm Closure Information

Students and parents can check the latest snow (or ice storm) closure information by calling 786-2071.  If schools are closed, this is the first place it will be announced.

Announcements will also be found on the three major Spokane television stations (KHQ, KXLY, and KREM) and a host of AM and FM radio stations including KWAL (620AM) and KVNI (1080AM).
