Kellogg High School

School Report Card 2006-2007

OUR MISSION

“Success Is Earned”

KEEPING YOU INFORMED

This report is a summary of some indicators of the performance of our school. No single report can tell the whole story of our school’s educational program or the people who work and learn here. We encourage you to find out firsthand by visiting our school.  If you are a parent of one our students, we invite you to take an active role in your child’s learning because studies show that when parents are involved, students do better in school.

HOW WE ARE IMPROVING

As another measure to ensure the success of our students, we  committed to the "Failure Is Not An Option" program for the '06-'07 school year.  Our goal was to reduce the number of failing grades by aggressively intervening when a student received an "F" or "zero". Two days a week we had an extra class period built into the schedule. Students that had failing grades or missing work  used this period to catch up or get extra instruction on the failing work.  We wanted to change the climate of our school to one where we expect that EVERY student on EVERY assignment will excel if given enough time to do so.

OPTIONS FOR PARENTS

ParentCONNECT is available for parents to use this year. The goal is to assist the parent in helping their child's success by making information about their progress and educational program available to them on-line.

ParentCONNECT software is a convenient home-to-school collaboration tool that allows parents/guardians to keep track of their children's academic progress on-line via an easy to use website. Parents/guardians may visit the password-protected site to view their student's schedules, grades, assignments, as well as daily and period attendance records.  The parent/guardian can also easily communicate with teachers via e-mail or receive automatic e-mail notification of unexcused absences, missing assignments, or failing grades.

Our goal is to provide a place for students to learn without distractions and concerns for safety. We closely monitor activities on our campus and offer comprehensive programs to prevent alcohol, tobacco, and substance abuse. As required by state and federal laws and rules, we collect, monitor, and report on crimes and substance abuse incidents on our campus and at school activities. A complete report of this information about our school and district is available at:
