  KEEPING YOU INFORMED

This report is a summary of some indicators of the performance of our school. No single report can tell the whole story of our school’s educational program or the people who work and learn here. We encourage you to find out firsthand by visiting our school.  If you are a parent of one our students, we invite you to take an active role in your child’s learning because studies show that when parents are involved, students do better in school.

HOW WE ARE IMPROVING

We have added classes using the Internet from the Idaho Digital Learning Academy to increase the academic offerings at the school.  IDLA classes are taught by Idaho certified teachers who are all highly qualified.

WHAT WE CELEBRATE

Each November we celebrate by inviting our family members, community members and teachers to a Turkey Dinner.  Students, with the help of the school staff, organize the food, the invitations and other arrangements to make this event special to all who attend.

Silver Valley Alternative School students have collaborated with the Staff House Museum, the City of Kellogg and the Shoshone Humane Society to provide needed services – raking leaves, planting flowers, putting up holiday lights, and walking dogs.

Our AmeriCorps Volunteer worked with students to clean a section of the bike path of any garbage or debris on a regular basis.

OUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY

Many factors, such as how often a child attends school, moving frequently, and English language experience, influence school achievement. Measuring these characteristics helps us understand our students’ needs.

OUR SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT

Our goal is to provide a place for students to learn without distractions and concerns for safety.
