Statement of Guiding Principles POLICY NO: 300

The superintendent of schools shall be the executive officer of the board of education and shall be directly responsible to it for the execution of its policies, for the faithful and efficient observance of its rules by all employees throughout the system, and for the enforcement of the law relating to the operation of the schools.

The superintendent of schools shall have authority to set policy by administrative decision in areas not specifically covered by written board policy when circumstances and time restrictions make such emergency action necessary. Such policy decisions shall be subject to review by the board of trustees before thereafter becoming established district policy.
