Educational Philosophy POLICY NO: 101
The board of education believes it has the responsibility of providing an educational
program equally available to all students of the school district.
The board of education believes it has an obligation to provide a basic education that
will establish a foundation for learning, enabling students to develop their abilities,
talents, and interests.
The board of education believes in providing a positive educational program that will
enhance each students self-esteem and will assist in the development of an awareness
of responsible citizenship and the need for a positive contribution to society.
Further, the board of education believes that educational opportunities could be
extended to adults.
OBJECTIVES
Consistent with the Statement of Philosophy, the following objectives are set forth in
an effort to provide further direction and understanding:
 | To establish a policy assuring that all student are treated fairly and consistently.

 | To teach the fundamental processes of reading, writing, speaking, listening and
mathematics.

 | To establish a curriculum that provides the tools for learning and the tools for living.
|
 | To provide the foundation for the development of training and skills necessary for
employment.
|
 | To recognize differing student abilities and provide varying and challenging learning
experiences.
|
 | To help students acquire good mental and physical habits.
|
 | To emphasize the worth and dignity of each individual.
|
 | To develop and facilitate an attitude of mutual respect between all areas of the school
system: students, teachers, administration, community.
|
 | To help each student acquire a sense of competency and a positive self image.
|
 | To help equip students for full participation in a democratic society.
|
 | To help students value life, law and order, freedom, and the dignity of work.
|
 | To help students become self-disciplined and to make positive contributions in school,
home, community and country.
|
 | To help students maintain a school environment which is safe and encourages productive
learning.
|
 | To encourage systematic, on-going assessment and reporting of student growth.
|
 | To encourage continuous school and district-wide program improvement resulting from
staff and community input and assessment.

 | To encourage the highest standards of performance and behavior by all.
|
 | To recognize that a dedicated and well prepared staff is of prime importance in
attaining the philosophy and objectives of the school district.

 | To recruit, to select, and to properly place the most capable and best prepared staff
members.
|
 | To encourage the continued professional development of all certificated employees.
|
 | To encourage the continuing educational opportunities for adults in the community.
|
 | To provide a continuous program of communication within the community regarding the
districts objectives, achievements, needs, and conditions. |
